The Code of Conduct is the foundation of our corporate culture and sets out high
standards of integrity on how we do business. Our Code helps us navigate through day-to-day issues and helps us make informed decisions.
This Code of Conduct applies for all employees of Blue Ocean Technology and any other personnel, including contracted personnel and others acting on behalf of Blue Ocean Technology.
Blue Ocean Technology shall conduct its business in a manner that is aligned with UN Guiding Principles for Business and Human Rights. We respect all international acknowledged laws on human rights, including those in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (ICESCR), and policies covered through the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). These include, but are not limited to, freedom to join unions and collectively bargain, the right to oppose forced labour, child labour and discrimination in the workplace.
Blue Ocean Technology commits to making its workplace a safe, inclusive, diverse, transparent, and respected place to work.
Based on this commitment Blue Ocean Technology have developed a Code of
Conduct to make our stance on corporate, environmental, and social responsibility clear for our suppliers, clients, our own staff and to other stakeholders
1 Relations
1.1 Blue Ocean Technology shall conduct its business in a manner designed to
protect the interests of its employees and their health and safety. In return, the
Company expects its employees, including board members and directors, to
actively protect and promote the business objectives and the interests of Blue
Ocean Technology. All employees are expected to exercise the highest
standards of professional integrity towards local communities, the environment,
stakeholders, and colleagues.
2 Working environment
2.1 It is expected that all individuals associated with or who act on behalf of Blue
Ocean Technology, to treat everyone with dignity, courtesy, and respect. Our
mission states the following: “For Blue Ocean Technology it is significant that all
employees are treated equal. Our clients shall be treated in a fair and honest
way”.
By this, the Company prohibits discrimination against any employee based on
age, gender, race, nationality, sexual orientation, disability, religion, political
opinions, or any other basis prohibited by law.
3 Safeguarding property and assets
3.1 Property and assets in Blue Ocean Technology’s control shall not be used by
unauthorized personnel. The assets in control by Blue Ocean Technology must
never be used for anything other than the legitimate business purpose they are
intended to serve. This applies to tangible assets such as equipment and
machinery, as well as intangible assets such as intellectual property or business
secrets.
4 Communication
4.1 All communication, both internal and external must be conducted in a
professional, respectful, and informative way. One should strive to provide as
much relevant information as possible when communicating. Note that all
inquiries from the media, authorities and government representatives shall
always immediately be forwarded to the Company’s CEO.
5 Company interests and conflict of interests
5.1 No individuals associated with Blue Ocean Technology shall directly or
indirectly use their position in the Company to gain personal benefits. If an
employee finds him or herself in a position where an external party wishes to
gain information on business secrets, this must immediately be reported to the
employee’s immediate supervisor, or to the Board of Directors.
All employees are expected to advance the legitimate interests of the Company
whenever an opportunity arises.
6 Corruption and bribery
6.1 Blue Ocean Technology is opposed to all forms of corruption and will make
active efforts to ensure that it does not occur in the Company’s value chain.
Any employee of Blue Ocean Technology, or others acting on the Company’s
behalf, shall not engage in any activity that could constitute an offence under
the Anti-Bribery and Corruption Legislation. Activities that could constitute an
offence could be offering of illegal or inappropriate gifts, monetary or other
remuneration, to gain business or personal advantages.
7 Gifts
7.1 All employees of Blue Ocean Technology shall exhibit caution when giving or
receiving gifts, services, or other benefits, in a professional setting. Gifts,
services, or other benefits from external parties shall never be given or received
to influence the Company’s or personal decisions.
Hospitality such as meals, entertainment, travels, and other financial expenses
shall only be accepted or offered when there are legitimate strategic benefits
for the Company. Note that acceptance or offerings of such hospitality must be
within financial reasonable limits.
8 Environment
8.1 Blue Ocean Technology strives to act responsibly with an ambition to reduce
the direct and indirect emissions from our operations. The Company expects all
employees to reduce environmental impacts wherever they can, by promoting
an efficient use of resources. All parties associated with Blue Ocean Technology
shall raise concerns and questions where violating activities relating to
environmental sustainability unfolds in the Company’s supply chain.
9 Breaches and whistleblowing
9.1 Blue Ocean Technology supports a culture that encourages every
individual to speak freely and to speak up if they suspect or encounter
non-compliance with our Code of Conduct. Any violations against this
Code of Conduct must be reported either to the employee’s immediate
manager or to the individual’s representative in Human Resources. If an
individual does not feel comfortable speaking with either one’s immediate
manager or to Human Resources, an anonymous notice can be filed
through our whistle-blower form found at here
9.2 The informer will through the whistle-blower form be able to choose to be
named or anonymous.
Any retaliation against whistle-blowers is strictly prohibited, even in cases
where the whistle-blower was wrongfully accusing someone of breaching Blue
Ocean Technology’s Code of Conduct.
